Paper Card Color Ink
As an artist with an Eastern background, Zhu Wei's love for pen and ink rice paper is actually a complex. He finds that the more he studies contemporary art, the more he needs Oriental culture, which includes two aspects: one is traditional culture, and the other is contemporary culture. With the deepening of his understanding of art, Zhu Wei gradually realized that the difference between Chinese painting and oil painting is actually the difference in materials, and there is no essential difference, because the standards of art are the same.
Zhu Wei defines the works of this stage as: a kind of ink painting works or paper works using paper and ink as the medium. Some look like traditional Chinese painting, while others don't. Zhu Wei's ink painting is very different from traditional Chinese painting. In addition to the same materials, Zhu Wei does not care about the technique or formal expression of Chinese painting. The ideological meaning conveyed by his ink painting and the culture of The Times reflected in his works are the imprint of the interaction between contemporary ink painting and The Times.
